BYD SHARK 6 50mm Lift Driver Front CV Spacer

This spacer is designed to address a known issue on lifted BYD SHARK 6 vehicles, where the front driver side CV can eject during off-road use.

Through testing, we’ve found that after a lift, the tripod joints begin operating too close to the trailing edge of the inner CV cup. Over time, particularly at maximum droop points where the wheel is driven and off the ground, this angle and contact to near edge can cause gradual machining of the cup. As wear progresses, it creates angled surfaces that allow the tripod, under load to slip out and ultimately lead to CV failure during off-road use.

Our spacer has been developed and tested on our own ALL TERRAIN SHARK over an extended period to determine the optimal spacing required to correct this geometry and prevent the issue.

Recommended sizing:

• 12mm spacer for a 50mm lift
• 8mm spacer for a 30mm lift

We have extensively tested this spacer to ensure that, at full suspension droop, it provides the correct CV positioning without creating any interference. Testing confirmed that the tripod contacts the intended operating surface within the inner CV cup, preventing contact with the trailing edge that can lead to premature wear.

Our testing has also shown that the spacer does not introduce any additional vibration, driveline issues or adverse effects on vehicle operation when the correct size is used.

Selecting the correct spacer thickness is critical. We recommend using the spacer size that matches your suspension lift, as these are the specifications we have validated through extensive real-world testing:

• 8mm spacer for a 30-40mm lift
• 12mm spacer for a 50mm lift

The price of this product reflects the significant trial and error required to engineer a reliable solution that works and is not a guess, we’ve had to endure road side CV changes, push the SHARK hard to test each solution to find the right one. During our testing, we sacrificed many CVs while testing different spacer thicknesses and configurations to achieve the correct size and ensure to eliminate any vibrations and ensure a precise machined fit.

The result is a product that has been extensively tested in real-world off road use for nearly 1 year to provide a proven solution for lifted BYD SHARK 6 vehicles used off-road on factory CV.
